London is a hub of vegan eateries with new vegan restaurants, cafes and bakeries popping up across the city. Most restaurants now offer a plant-based option on their menus. A well-made sweet treat is guaranteed to put a smile on our faces so in no particular order, we have rounded up the CARMA Team’s favourite vegan dessert spots in London, sure to satisfy every sweet tooth!
Bubblewrap London: This place is always packed and with good reason! Their bubble waffle cones are enormous, delicious and a refreshingly different dessert option. They have a range of vegan friendly combinations such as a red velvet flavoured waffle cone with dairy free chocolate ice cream, crushed peanuts and lotus biscuits. It’s the perfect summer dessert.
Wulf & Lamb: This casual 100% plant-based eatery is off a quiet laneway in Chelsea. They offer a selection of tasty sweet and savoury comfort foods. Vegan dessert stand-outs here include a delicious and generous portion of carrot cake (supplied by Ruby’s) - the creamy cinnamon frosting is very moorish. They also have a perfect creamy mango and passionfruit dairy-free cheesecake with a macadamia nut base topped with raspberry crumble and fresh mint, served with a side of cute little vegan meringue bites! Cheesecake + Glass of Wine = Heaven.
Crosstown Donuts: They recently opened a dedicated vegan branch in Marylebone - the dream! Using chia seeds and coconut butter for their vegan dough, they have successfully recreated a plant-based donut with the same taste and texture as their original doughnuts and they are superb! The lime, coconut and cinnamon scroll are insanely good - with strong flavours and perfect with an afternoon cup of tea or coffee.
Chinchin Labs: Europe's First Liquid Nitrogen Ice-Cream Parlour with several chic branches across London including Soho and Camden. They offer incredible flavour blends like pandan, black sesame and wild blueberry ice cream topped with pistachio and cardamom powder, hot choc chip cookie or Crack (molten dark chocolate) and fillings like cherry pie or handmade torched marshmallow.
Ruby’s of London: One of our favourite artisan bakeries in London with a stall based at Greenwich market. They supply wholesale to some great restaurants including Wulf & Lamb. You can also purchase larger cakes and baked treats online. Their red velvet cupcake with vanilla cream cheese buttercream, dusted with dark chocolate shavings and red velvet crumbs and their citrus burst cupcakes, Sicilian lemon sponge filled with fresh blueberry and lemon zest, topped with zesty lemon buttercream made with freshly squeezed lemon juice, topped with fresh blueberries and lime zest are exceptional!
Cutter & Squidge: All of their delicious cakes and biscuits are handmade in London using 100% natural ingredients. We went along to a “magical” Harry Potter themed afternoon tea at their Brewer St bakery. Highlights include the scones with jam and coconut cream and best of all a seriously chocolatey fudge cake slice. They also offer a full sized vegan chocolate fudge cake with dried raspberries, dark chocolate shavings and touches of 24 carat gold. Perfect for Birthdays.
